PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This Fire station was used as a prototype for two stations and is a slab-on-grade with spreading footing. The centrally located apparatus room allowed for drive thru rather than backing into the station. The structure of the building is of masonry load bearing walls with fire retardant wood trusses and composition roof with acoustical tile ceilings. The exterior finish is brick and the interior featured ceramic wainscoting in toilets, dayroom, and apparatus room. The wall finish was epoxy paint on concrete block.
